But to each his/her own. There are too many good books out there to spend time with one you are sure you are not going to like.Dorothy Bordershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12441731296027227394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-37678854089555673292018-12-14T19:36:05.667-06:002018-12-14T19:36:05.667-06:00Great review, Dorothy. I probably would have as much trouble reading this book as most readers have.Carmenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10242364668293349799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3560838335414244511.post-64309527886653409072018-12-14T13:08:10.001-06:002018-12-14T13:08:10.001-06:00Stream of consciousness and characters without nam...Stream of consciousness and characters without names seem to be the new "in" things in fiction. This is the second book that I've read quite recently that employed those techniques at least to some extent. I suppose refusing to give the characters names and only referring to them by their roles in the story is a way of defining them simply by those roles rather than by their personal characteristics. It's an interesting way of dealing with things. And...another reason it was a good thing I studied that stream of consciousness novel The Chandelier by Clarice Lispector.
