    1. If you go to Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge (where I photographed this one) or any of the nature preserves along the coast, they are fairly common there.

  2. Looks very similar to the Oystercatchers we have down here in FL. Must be in the same family

    1. You have a good eye. They are closely related. American Oystercatchers are in the genus Haematopus and Black-necked Stilts are in genus Himantopus. They are cousins in the vast shorebird family.
